We are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Craig King has signed an extended deal at the club, that will see him at the club until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
Mark Jones was thrilled that he was able to agree the extended terms with King, stating ‘Having a good goalkeeper is crucial in a good side, so we wanted to try and get Kingy signed up for next season as soon as possible’.
The new deal comes in a week where Craig made his 50th appearance for the Hoops, continuing his ever-present record in competitive matches. He made sure that it was a good one for him personally as he notched his first penalty save for the Hoops which, along with an important save late in normal time, set the platform for Kabby Tshimanga to score the winner in extra time.
King’s performances between the City sticks have certainly earned the Hoops countless league points, and most memorably a place in the FA Cup First Round. His magnificent save from a free-kick at 1-0 allowed City to go on and kill the game off against Hemel Hempstead, when a 1-1 scoreline would have certainly changed the feeling of the match.

Jonah went onto say:
‘We are delighted that Craig King has extended his contract until the end of the 2019/20 season. Craig joined us midway through last season, after having a period where he was out of the game. I think he’s proved himself beyond anybody’s doubts over the past few months and we feel we want to keep our best players with us if we possibly can.
We’ve been speaking over the last month and he’s happy here, enjoys playing, and he likes the club, and we want to keep going with him and we want him to be an important figure moving forward at the club, and hopefully he’ll help us improve and keep us moving forwards.
Elsewhere on the squad front, Mark Jones has advised supporters to watch this space next week as there may be some new faces lined up!
