Mark Jones' busy week continued today with the re-signing of Josh Ashby and Jack Self.
The pair of midfielders were both instrumental figures in the 2018/19 campaign, playing key roles in the spine of the team.
Josh joined the Hoops on a permanent basis last summer, having previously enjoyed a loan spell at Marsh Lane in the 2019/17 season, and has made the central midfield position his own with his calm demeanour on the ball, robust defending, and reliable set-piece delivery.
Jack, meanwhile, is a newer arrival having signed from Banbury in November of 2018. While his early appearances were limited due to being cup-tied in both the FA Cup and FA Vase, the dynamic midfielder announced himself with a vital goal against 10-man Dulwich Hamlet in only his second appearance. A reliable performer when starting games or coming off of the bench, he has also proven his versatility with a couple of cameos at fullback.
Josh and Jack join Craig King, Reece Fleet, Zac McEachran, and Ben Jefford on City's retained list, with new on further re-signings expected in the next few days.
