City & Nomads both beaten

Oxford City twice came from behind at Havant & Waterlooville before falling to a 3-2 defeat.

City fell behind in the 9th minute to a Matt Tubbs effort but ended the half strongly with Rob Sinclair coming close to levelling the scores at the break.

Godfrey Poku’s speculative effort on 51 minutes found the bottom corner to level things but Havant were again in front just 3 minutes later via the head of Theo Lewis.

City again leveled on 59 minutes when Matt Paterson fired home from the penalty spot and that lasted until the 78th minute when Matt Tubbs stroked Home his second of the night.

There was to be late drama with Reece Fleet shown a red card.

Full report to follow.

Oxford City Nomads played their first fixture of 2018 as they traveled to Virginia Water in the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup.

Despite a late fightback from 4-1 behind they were defeated 4-3 by the Berkshire outfit.
