Oxford City are pleased to announce their first four pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
It will start with the traditional friendly against our neighbours at League One Oxford United, who will make the extremely short trip around the ring-road to Marsh Lane on Tuesday 9th July for a 19:45 kick-off.
This will be the third season that this fixture has kick-started the Hoops’ pre-season – the U’s have won on both previous occasions, with a 3-0 win two seasons ago, and a 5-1 win last season.
A week later, on Tuesday 16th July, the Hoops will make the trip along the A418 to the ASM Stadium to face Thame United. The Southern League Division One side had a great season in 2018/19 as they finished just outside the play-off positions. The Thame side also boasts a number of familiar faces to Hoops supporters, as Craig Hill, Matt Peake-Pijnen and Jack Tutton all lined up for them this season. Kick-off for this match is again at 19:45.
Following this will be our second home game of pre-season as AFC Rushden & Diamonds visit Marsh Lane on Saturday 20th July for a 3pm kick-off.
Three days later, on the 23rd July, the Hoops make the trip down the M40 to Beaconsfield Town. This will see yet another 19:45 kick-off, this time at Holloways Park.
The final match is further afield, with a trip to Wales to face Cardiff Met University on Saturday 27th July, a 3pm kick-off at the Cyncoed Campus.
There are further fixtures still to be confirmed, these will be communicated as soon as they are known.
