A lacklustre second half display from Oxford City saw them fall victim to an improving Whitehawk as they were beaten 1-0 in the Vanarama National League South at Marsh Lane.
City edged the first period without really troubling the visiting stopper, Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain with several jinking runs down the right flank looked the cause Whitehawk problems, at the other end the lively pairing of Elliot Benyon and Gold Omotayo saw Craig King called into action early into his City debut.
If the first period belonged to City then the second belonged to visitors Whitehawk who played the ball around with class that belied their league postion , City looked to be lacking in fluidity and they were duly punished when a freekick some 20 yards from goal was expertly curled home by the impressive Omotayo.
