U18's make it through to Final

Oxford City Ladies U18's got through to the Thames Valley Counties League Final with a 5-0 win at home to Aylesbury United
This semi-final was a battle of top team in Division One against top team of Division Two. Aylesbury have gone through the season unbeaten, and have already been crowned champions of Division Two, as they cannot be caught, so City knew they had to treat their opponents with respect. Some dogged defending, and City not at their fluent best, but the home side did go into half-time with a 2-0 lead thanks to a 26th minute goal through Lara Althorp direct from corner, and a 25 yard screamer from Shelley Knight on 38 minutes.
City upped their game in the 2nd half, but took till the 75th minute to get their 3rd, as Sarah Harrison's through ball put Molly Lygo clear, and she coolly slotted home. A minute later and City were 4-0 up as Becci Bostock popped up to head home. They then added a 5th on 89 minutes, as Keeper Lucy Hunter long keeper was flicked on by Harrison, and Ellie Larkin timed her run to perfection, and then calmly finished to finish the scoring.
Although the performance was not the best, City can now look forward to a League Cup Final, which these girls deserve after a fantastic season. Their opponents in the final are Winchester City, who they are currently battling with for the title, on Saturday April 23rd at Milton United FC, kick-off 10.30am.
