Oxford City Ladies FC have made a bright start to the league, taking maximum points from their first two league games. Oxford City will be looking to continue this form in the OFA Women's Cup against Chinnor. Waheed Ramzan, OCLFC’s First Team Manager, still believes there is a lot of hard work to do if they want to continue dominating the top of the table.
He told us “It was a disappointing day at the office against Ascot, in all honesty, despite getting a win. Many things in our normal game were missing in the first half. However, this did improve in the second. We had more of the ball in the second half, looked more composed and created good chances to extend our lead. Unfortunately, we didn’t take these chances and allowed Ascot back into the game which put incredible pressure on us to see the game out in the last few minutes. Credit to the girls, we soaked up the pressure well, still tried to play our style of football and did create further chances to score even with the momentum against us. We have things to work on and we are a young side - All experiences are good experiences and we learn from this, take the 3 points and move forward in the campaign.”
Waheed is keen to continue to build momentum against Chinnor this weekend:
“This weekend, we look forward to welcoming Chinnor to Court Place Farm. This is a good chance to continue working on things that haven’t been great in our game so far this season. We have players coming back from injury and players still looking to get match fit. This is a good opportunity for us to rotate players and give individuals an opportunity to impress. Let the hard work continue!”
Oxford City Ladies FC take on Chinnor at Court Place Farm this Sunday, k.o. 2pm. Entry is FREE.
