Oxford City Ladies FC continue their dominant form putting nine goals past Newbury last Sunday. Waheed told us “This was a good, professional performance from the ladies. I am happy that we had an opportunity to work on the things we have been practising in training and keep developing our style of play and progress as a squad. You have to remember there has been many changes within the sector and a bit of an overhaul so for the ladies to be gelling and for our football to come together so quickly is really impressive and a credit to the club, the coaches and the players for the environment we have here.”
The progressive changes continue as the Ladies’ First Team welcome Ben Small to the coaching setup. Ladies’ First Team Manager is pleased with the appointment: “ I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Ben Small into the coaching setup at OCLFC. He has a large experience of coaching youth players in an academy environment and I look forward to Ben bringing his thoroughness and professionalism into the set up to support what we are doing. He delivered his first session on Tuesday night and the players enjoyed it and engaged well.”
OCLFC welcome Woodley United FC to Court Place Farm on Sunday. Waheed is expecting a tough game: “They have had a good start to the league with 3 wins and a loss (to promotion rivals Bournemouth AFC). The girls are putting together some really good results and performances on the pitch and at training and this momentum we look to continue into Sunday and onwards. This will prove a stern test and we will have to be at our best to come away with a positive result. I challenge the ladies to put in another solid performance and continue to grow together taking the 3 points along with them.”
Oxford City Ladies FC take on Woodley at Court Place Farm this Sunday, k.o. 2pm. Entry is FREE.
