Ashley Hemmings Signs For Oxford City
Hemmings is a Hoop.
Oxford City Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Forward Ashley Hemmings on loan from Enterprise National League South side Dagenham & Redbridge until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Hemmings joins the Hoops on the back of an extremely successful last campaign in ENLN, finishing 2024/25 with the golden boot and player of the season awards.
A scorer of over 100 goals in his career, Hemmings bolsters our forward options as we enter the run-in.
After signing for the Hoops, Hemmings said: “I’m delighted to be here.
“I can’t wait to help the team out. Assists, goals… It’s what I’m about and after speaking to the gaffer, everything he’s asked me to do is what I feel I can bring to the team.”
Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins added: “I’m delighted to get Ashley on board with us.
“He’s a player with great experience and energy to create and score goals. He knows the league very well and he can play in a number of positions.
“Adding knowledge and enthusiasm will be great for our group and I’m sure he’ll fit in very well.”

Hemmings began his footballing journey at Wolverhampton Wanderers, joining their academy at age nine. He signed his first professional contract in February 2009 at 17 and soon went on loan to Cheltenham Town, where he made his senior debut.
He featured briefly for Wolves’ first team at the end of the 2008–09 season and signed a new two-year deal. To continue gaining experience, Hemmings had loan spells at Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle, scoring goals and providing assists, particularly impressing during his time at Plymouth.
After his contract at Wolves ended in 2012 and a permanent move to Plymouth fell through, Hemmings signed with Walsall in League One.
He made an immediate impact, scoring in the League Cup on his debut and contributing through the season with goals and assists, as well as joining Burton Albion on loan.
He then joined Dagenham & Redbridge in League Two, where he enjoyed a productive spell, becoming a regular starter and scoring goals. He scored seven times during the 2014–15 season and earned a contract extension.
However, he was released in 2016 following the club’s relegation to the National League and signed for Mansfield Town, where he stayed for one season.
After leaving Mansfield, Hemmings dropped into non-league football with Boston United, where he ended the season as top scorer and voted as the club’s Player of the Season.
He briefly joined Salford City before moving to AFC Fylde in search of more regular playing time. A short loan at Altrincham followed, before he signed with Kidderminster Harriers in October 2019.
He went on to spend 6 seasons at Kiddy where he asserted himself as a cult hero at Aggborough Stadium.
Last season, he enjoyed his most productive spell, scoring 30 goals as Harriers just missed out on the league title. A season which earned him both the National League North golden boot and player of the season awards.
He moved back to Dagenham & Redbridge during the summer, before briefly re-joining Kidderminster Harriers on loan last month.
Welcome to Oxford City, Ashley!
