City Women Win County Cup
Women beat Kidlington in Oxon County Cup Final

Oxford City were crowned County Champions for the 16th time when they beat Kidlington Youth Ladies 4-0 at Thame United’s ASM Stadium this afternoon.
Two goals from top scorer Ellie White plus goals from Emma Donohoe and Kitty Crouch eased them past a battling Kidlington side to give them silverware at the end of an excellent season.
A dominant City peppered the Kidlington goal from the start with Crouch wide of the mark three times and the resolute Beth Dunbabin having to organise the already overworked Kidlington defence even before Donohoe opened the scoring after 14 one-sided minutes with a 25 yard dipping effort that flew in to make it 1-0 and open the floodgates.
Crouch made it 2-0 soon after, beating the onrushing keeper to steer the ball home, and then a combination of some wayward finishing, brave defending and a couple of good saves kept it at 2-0 at the break.
However 'Player of the Season' White was not to be denied her share of the glory and three minutes after the break confidently rolled home the penalty after being brought down by a weary looking Kidlington challenge, then made it 4-0 after 61 minutes by stabbing the ball home as she once again raced clear of the defence. She had done this six times already without hitting the target, and her teammates proceeded to do it at least a further six after that but the scoreline didn't matter: job done and a reward for a season of hard work and commitment
A good crowd on a sunny afternoon and a well-deserved win to take home the trophy.
