Brown's in Town.

Oxford City are delighted to announce the signing of young, exciting winger Ellis Brown from Bedford Town ahead of the 2026/27 National League North season.

The 23-year-old played his football at Bedford Town last season, and Impressed in front of the Eagles fans during his 31 appearances at The New Eyrie.

Brown links up with Tyrone Marsh, his former teammate at Bedford Town, someone he had a very slick connection with last season.

Having come through the football pyramid via the traditional grassroots route, Brown played his latter years of junior football at Boreham Wood before moving north of the border to Scottish side Hamilton Academical.

"I'm feeling good, I'm excited and I can't wait to start" Ellis told us.

"After speaking to Ross and talking with Allan, getting a feel for the club; going forward in my career it was the best place for me to come.

"I want to bet on myself, on and off the pitch. I just want to see how much I can learn and see how high this club can go and I'm super excited about it.

"I'm looking forward to being with the lads and getting the season started, see what opportunities there are to play in some big stadiums."

In his two years in Scotland, Brown developed as a player and then moved back to England with AFC Telford United.

Brown quickly became a regular in the starting lineup for The Bucks. During the 2023/24 season, Brown was instrumental in pushing Telford into the play-off positions, ultimately earning promotion into the National League North.

From there it was a short move to Bedford Town where he made a huge impact in 31 games and linked up superbly with new City number nine, Tyrone Marsh.  

First Team Manager, Ross Jenkins said: "Ellis is a player who will add excitement and speed to our wide areas. He has the ability to run fullbacks and run behind back lines which will add another dimension to our play.

"Adding his hunger and athleticism to our squad is exactly what we want from our new players and I'm sure he will settle into our dressing room with ease."
