The arrival of Fernando Forestieri as an Oxford City player on Friday seems to have captured the imagination not just the Hoops fans but the whole of football.

City were trending on social media for much of the weekend after the arrival of the former Ssheffield Wednesday forward and sales of ‘Forestieri’ shirts in to the new Club Shop meant record sales on matchday as City made it through in the FA Cup with a superb 6-1 win over Enfield Town.

Fernando’s arrival also meant that his sponsorship packages were both snapped up immediately with the Baldwin family becoming Family Sponsors and Lawbox extending their support of the club by becoming his Business Sponsors.

Jamie Murray of Lawbox said: “Fernando joining is a real statement of intent from the club and another big step forward. We are proud to be part of the City business network and to be sponsoring Fernando. We look forward to seeing him in action.”

Lawbox and The Baldwin Family (or ‘Simon and Noah’ as they will both feature across social media, on the scoreboard, on the teamsheet and in the programme alongside Fernando’s name and Head of Partnerships Chris Williams said:

“There was massive interest as soon as the signing was announced and Lawbox and the Baldwin’s won the race for his sponsorship. Both are real friends of the club and their support means a lot to us all.”
