Centre-half Kabongolo rose through the youth ranks with Championship side Ipswich Town before joining Isthmian League side Billericay Town in September of this season.

He impressed quickly at the New Lodge and was released by the Essex club so he could sign at Southend.

He went on to make thirteen appearances at Roots Hall, and was also used as a makeshift striker in some matches.
