Max joined City on an initial one-month loan from Watford back in September, making his first appearance for the club as a substitute in the 4-0 victory against Chorley on September 5th.

Later extending his loan, keeping him at the club until the end of October, he earned his first start as a Hoop against Enfield Town, with his energy in attack earning him a regular place in the matchday squad.

Football runs in the family for Smith, his father being former Watford forward Tommy Smith, who also progressed through the ranks as a Hornet. Following in his father’s footsteps, he has enjoyed youth spells at Watford, but now the 19-year-old joins City searching for senior experience, driving his career forward in the Enterprise National League North.
