Oxford City Football Club are pleased to announce that midfielder Josh McConnell has signed his first senior contract at the club.

Josh has impressed throughout pre-season and since progressing through the club's Velocity Academy and has been rewarded with his first senior contract at the club.

Josh scored 13 goals in 22 appearances for our development team last season in the Hellenic League.

A highly regarded youngster, he also featured for the first team in pre-season last summer, and scored in our FA Youth Cup win against Street FC last season.

He has been handed the number 20 shirt with City. He will now be loaned to Didcot Town.

McConnell said: "A lot of work's been put in to getting here and it feels really good to sign.

"Sam [Cox] has been really supportive throughout pre-season and i'm really looking forward to working with him and the team going forward."
