Match Preview | Chesham United v Oxford City

July 25, 2025

City travel to Chesham as pre-season nears conclusion.

Oxford City continue their pre season as they face Chesham United at The Meadow on Saturday afternoon, 3 pm kick off, with only two games remaining before the commencement of the National League North when they face AFC Fylde.

City faced a well-drilled and tactically sound Gloucester City side in midweek, earning a 1-1 draw. Manager Ross Jenkins was encouraged by the game and praised it as a "really solid game that was a tough test, which is what we want in pre season."

Chesham United play their regular football in the National League South and the weekend's fixture will be an equally tough test for The Hoops. It's another opportunity for Jenkins to implement some of the tactical work he has been coaching and for players to keep building up fitness in preparation for the first week of the season.

With just one fixture remaining after the Chesham game, it's an opportunity for fans to evaluate the side with new faces and a new style of play.
