Match Preview | Easington Sports v Oxford City

July 4, 2025

Hoops begin pre season with away trip.

The Hoops are back in action as the boys head to Easington Sports in their first pre season game ahead of a marathon season in the Enterprise National League North.

There will be plenty of fresh faces on show, with some more familiar ones, of course. But it is the first opportunity to see the Hoops in full flow since the end of last season.

Newly appointed club-captain Josh Ashby has expressed his excitement ahead of the upcoming season. He said: "I'm looking forward to getting back into the rhythm of playing and getting used to my new teammates. It's a great opportunity for us a team to build foundations that we can take into the season."

Manager Ross Jenkins has been meticulous over the summer break bringing in quality players in the likes of DJ Campton-Sturridge and Latrell Humphrey-Ewers. The sights are set high for this City side this season.

We have all missed seeing the Hoops play and Saturday is a brilliant chance to see them back in action. You won't want to miss it!

ONE TO WATCH - Endri Stathi

Ex-Oxford City midfielder Endri Stathi will be on show on the weekend after his move to Addison Road.

THE MANAGER - Andy Sharman

At the end of the 2019 season, Sharman was appointed Assistant Manager of the ESFC Development side with Ben Milner is charge.

Two years later, he was in charge of the first team and brought Tommy Kinch with him as his assistant.

When Sharman took over the side they sat in Step 5, playing their league football for the. United Counties League and after three seasons in charge, Sharman has cemented Easington's position in that league.
