ONE TO WATCH - Freya Gilmore
Coming through the ranks at Abingdon United, Freya made her first team debut in the 2023/24 season.
After making five league appearances in the FAWNL, Gilmore has been promoted to the first team squad for the 2024/25 season.
Gilmore was a vital part in Abingdon United’s development on the pitch last season and therefore remains a yellow. Playing at Centre Midfield, Freya will prove a tough challenge for City with her ability to pick the ball up and play causing potential problems for the Hoops.
THE MANAGER - Chris Smith
Well, for those that know, Chris is no stranger to the Hoops!
For those who don't, Chris was our Women’s Manager for the 2024/25 season. Chris rejoined Abingdon in the 2024/25 season as the Women's First Team Manager after a successful stint with City.
Before departing, Chris helped Connor Walton to lead the Hoops to a respectul 4th position in the Southern Region Women’s Football League.
