Match Report | Badshot Lea Ladies 2-6 Oxford City Women

March 26, 2024

City Women make it three wins in a row.

Oxford City Women continued their excellent form this weekend with a 6-2 win over Badshot Lea Ladies.

Emily Harris scored a hat-trick, with Ellie White netting twice and an own goal completing the scoring in another emphatic win.

The first goal came after seven minutes when White and Harris bamboozled the defence and it led to an own goal, but the home side came back to level just before the break at 1-1

City hit back immediately and were ahead a minute before the interval when Harris drove through the defenders and puts a great ball to White’s feet for the striker to tap home and make it 2-1 at the break.

️Harris then made it 3-1 with a superb 20-yard strike after 52 minutes and it became 4-1 after 58 minutes when captain Georgina Tayman played the ball to Harris and her shot bounced off a defender before finding the net

After 68 minutes White again freed Harris to make it 5-1 and then on 71' White raced down the wing and smashed it home to make it 6-1.

Badshot grabbed a consolation from a late corner but the result was beyond doubt by then, leaving Manager Connor Walton more than pleased with his team:

“We are in decent form right now and third in the league with just one game to go. I was pleased with the attitude and we were excellent in front of goal. We asked the players to finish the season strongly and all credit to them for the way they have done that.

“We’ll keep going into the summer and then look to strengthen and keep building with trials available if there are players wanting to come and be part of what we are looking to do next season and beyond."

The trials are being held at Oxford City Football Club throughout May & June and players can sign up by completing the trial form HERE
