City Start Pre-Season With a Win
City 4 Briton Ferry 0. Full time report

Oxford City kicked off pre-season with an encouraging 4-0 win against Briton Ferry at a sun-drenched MGroup Stadium this evening.
Goals from Matty Taylor, Zak McEachran, Ellis Brown and Tyrone Marsh eased the Hoops to a good win that gave fans plenty of early encouragement for the season ahead.
Boss Ross Jenkins gave all nine new signings a chance to shine alongside some of the exciting youngster coming through the system at the club and more established players in two elevens that changed at the break, as has become the pre-season tradition for first games across the land.
The Welsh Premier League matched City throughout the first Hydration Break (©INFANTINO 2026) with a skidding effort from winger Dillon De Silva right on the break the closest either side came to a breakthrough.
The opening goal came from a familiar source when Taylor, granted too much space near the penalty box, thumped home a volley to make it 1-0 after 34 minutes. The striker then stabbed the ball forwarrf for McEachran to double the advantage on the stroke of half time.
The second half eleven should have moved the Hoops further ahead but Brown twice hit the keeper’s legs when unmarked with an early chances and midfielder Scott Pollock also found keeper Will Fuller in good fom as he kept out the former Brackley man’s low drive.
However, City were dominant with keepers Max Treml and Johnny Maxted keeping a fairly comfortable combined clean heet and on 74 minutes the result was beyond doubt when the impressive Pollock fed Brown who made it 3-0 from six yards out.
Marsh then scored his first goal at Marsh Lane from the penalty spot after the lively Brown had been bundld over after 84 minuts
