The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON
First Round Qualifying
Bracknell Town v Oxford City
Saturday 13 September 2008
An FA Cup Protest Sub Committee was held on Friday 19 September 2008 to consider a protest lodged by Oxford City against Bracknell Town.
The protest was upheld after considering the facts surrounding the inclusion of Christopher Geary in the above tie, the Sub Committee decided that Bracknell Town had breached FA Cup Rule 15(i)(iii) by playing a player without International Clearance, therefore ineligible.
The Sub Committee decided that in accordance with its discretionary powers that Bracknell Town be removed from the Competition and Oxford City reinstated. The prize fund payment is also awarded to Oxford City.
No order was made as to costs and no fine imposed as removal from the Competition is deemed sufficient punishment.
The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON Second Round Qualifying tie will now be Oxford City v Tiverton Town, to be played on Saturday 27 September 2008.
