A night of festive fun for our Casuals players, parents, support workers and volunteers

At The Oxford City Casuals we pride ourselves on providing a safe environment for children and adults in our community with disabilities to be their best on and off the pitch.

On the pitch our regular football training is a chance to support our players physical well being. Off the pitch our events provide a safe environment to support their social wellbeing. And our social events continue to go from strength to strength.

Thankfully surviving the snowfall earlier in the week the Casuals Christmas party was a fantastic night for players, parents, support workers and volunteers to have fun.

There are not many safe community clubs where children and adults with disabilities can dance and play party games in one area, scratch their heads over football quiz questions in another or catch up with their friends in another. It was incredible to observe.

Incredible nights don't happen without hard work or preparation. I'd like to say particular thanks to Peter and Sarah Simmonds for the fabulous food; Bea, Evie, Mason and Josh for their engaging entertainment and music; and Ros for her football quizzes.

On behalf of Oxford City Football Club I would like to wish all our players, parents, support workers and volunteers a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Finally a reminder that this Sunday, 17 December is our final training session of 2017 before our winter break. Our first training session in 2018 is on Sunday 14 January.

Best wishes
