After a magnificent season that saw him net 36 goals in all competitions, 24 of those in the league, Kabongo Tshimanga has been recognised with a place in the National League South Team of the Season.
The team is voted for by the 22 clubs in the division, an XI is picked by all managers, with Kabby being paired with Torquay United’s Jamie Reid, as two of the top three goal-scorers in the division line up together up front.
It really has been a magnificent season for the frontman, whose 36 goals include two FA Cup hat-tricks – of which one was in the first round at Tranmere Rovers, earning him the Player of the First-Round accolade. His achievements are also backed up by numerous appearances in the Non-League Paper ‘Team of the Weekend’, as well as a call up for a special England C match against Bedfordshire FA, however his match was cut short by injury.
Tshimanga and Reid are joined in the Team of the Season by Bath City’s Ryan Clarke in goal. At the back, the Romans’ Anthony Straker joined by Woking’s Ben Gerring, Torquay’s Kyle Cameron and Billericay Town’s Joe Kizzi. Champions Torquay are also represented by Asa Hall in Midfield, with the XI completed by Chelmsford’s Chris Whelpdale, Hemel Hempstead’s Jordan Parkes and Nassim L’Ghoul from Welling United.
