There’s also a very important message as the division gets ready for a new look

League sponsors Vanarama hope you will get involved as MANaramamakes a very big return!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…
It’s been a tough month, the only win coming in the FA Cup. Three of the four Vanarama National League South matches saw the side fail to score - Oxford City fans may not want to hear that Kabongo Tshimanga is already in double figures for Boreham Wood.

The high point?
That came in the FA Cup. The 7-0 thrashing of North Leigh showed there’s so much potential in the team once they find that opening goal.

September for the others?
Oxford may have been winless but so were Eastbourne and Dulwich. Wealdstone may have ended September on top, but the team of the month were actually Slough Town - the Rebels enjoyed four straight Vanarama National League South wins in a row and a cup romp. Weymouth, Dorking and Braintree all took ten points from their four matches, while Hemel won three of theirs.

Stat attack:
Goals have been the problem in the league at least. Oxford only scored two last month - less than anyone else. The team have scored just 11 in 12 games, and only Eastbourne Borough have a worse record than that. Time to find their scoring boots!

But how do things compare to last September?
Actually, it’s better. No, really. Last September, the team lost every one of their games. Knew we would find a positive!

Who’s blazing a trail?
How City could do with one of these! The race for the Golden Boot is hotting up. Havant’s Jonah Ayunga still leads the way with nine, even if most of those came in August. Second is Wealdstone striker Ross Lafayette with eight while Liam Nash (Hemel Hempstead) Jake Robinson (Billericay) Jason Prior (Dorking) and Joe Iaciofano (St Albans) all have seven to their names.

What does October look like?
There are just three Vanarama National League South fixtures scheduled and two of them are at home - but Oxford do come up against September’s form sides. Before games with Slough and Dorking, Dartford visit - and they should have a new manager in place.
