Did you know over 15 million people in the UK give their time at least once each month. Volunteers week which took place from 1-7 June celebrates the contribution they make.
The volunteers at Oxford City Casuals make a fantastic contribution to our local community helping the children and adults we support be their best on and off the pitch. Whether it's taking registration fees and preparing refreshments; coaching our players or preparing for tournaments and events our volunteers make a huge difference to the lives of our disabled players.
The Oxford City Casuals coaches and support Staff
Dawn Adkins-Smith mother of Luke said "They [volunteers] are all fantastic. Each and every one has supported Luke and encouraged him to achieve his potential. Personally I would like to express our deepest thanks to them all. It really is a family and we know when Luke is at the casuals he is in the safest of hands and he enjoys every second".
We have over fifty registered players and our volunteers give their time at weekly training sessions 45 weeks of the year, which also includes participation in the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire inclusive league - one of the largest disability leagues in the country.
Ros Fernley, mother of Bill said "Ever since we arrived we have been welcome by each and ever member of the team! All the coaches are generous with their encouragement and kind comments. Any issues are always dealt with consistently and fairly. Everyone is friendly and welcoming".
