Welcome to my September 2017 Casuals newsletter. I am Mark Heelis, the manager of the Oxford City Casuals.

It is a pleasure to welcome our returning players, parents and volunteers to the 2017/18 season. I hope we can build on our success both on and off the pitch from last season.

Further recognition for the Casuals!

In July 2017 Oxford City Casuals were awarded £2,500 from the FA Community Fund.

This funding, along with the £5,000 received as part of the National League award is a welcome boost to help secure the Casuals finances for the next few seasons.

Party time for the Casuals

On Thursday 27 July Casuals players, parents, carers and volunteers celebrated the end of the 16/17 season.

It was a great evening with games, music, food and the award presentations. We were joined by mens first team manager Mark Jones who presented players with an award and a certificate.

Several first team players also joined us and posed for photos and signed autographs.

Dates for your diaries:

Sunday 1 Oct – BOBi League @ Oxford City

Player registration

All players are required to register with the club to participate in training and at BOBi league tournaments. We are flexible with how you pay, either as a one off cheque or cash or you can pay in instalments.

Please complete the registration form like David Brookes has done in the photo below and return it to us to ensure players can participate in the first BOBi tournament on 1 October.

BOBi league raffle’s

Starting this season, there will be a raffle at each BOBi league fixture. Each slip costs £1 and there are lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs including tickets to watch Reading FC, MK Dons and much much more.

The BOBi league relies on the volunteers from across its member clubs. It also has relied on FA funding and generous sponsorship from individuals.

The raffle is one initiative the BOBi league are introducing to make sure they have an affordable structure to continue to deliver the events we know players enjoy so much.

We will continue to hold our own cake sale during home BOBi league tournaments so please do look out for tasty treats in the club house.

Volunteer update

In July volunteers Celia, Sarah, Laura, Lee, Ros and Martin attended a safeguarding and first aid course. We are committed to offering training courses to help our volunteers support our players be their best on and off the pitch.

Training clothing update

Macron have updated the official clothing range for Oxford City Football Club at: http://www.macronstorecardiff.com/collections/clubs-oxford-city-fc. Alternatively we can place an order on your behalf, please see one of our coaching or support staff to collect an order form.
