Welcome to my November 2017 Casuals newsletter. I am Mark Heelis, the manager of the Oxford City Casuals.

Welcome from the Manager

Its been a great start to the 2017/18 season. We’ve welcomed new players to join our existing ones. We continue to make improvements off the pitch am I’m delighted we have become the central venue for the BOBi tournament this season.

BOBi tournaments

We are proud to be the central venue of the Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire inclusive league tournaments. So far we have hosted three tournaments in the 2017/18 season.

301 matches have been played over these 3 tournaments during which 39 teams have taken part.

Based on 7 aside games thats close to 300 players per event – in total 900 children, adults and ladies participating in their own league.
The tables can be found over the page.

Christmas party

Our Casuals Christmas party will take place on Thursday 14 December at the Oxford City club house.

There will be food, music and games and we hope that all our players, parents and support staff can join us for a fun night.

Dates for your diaries:

Thursday 14 Dec – Christmas Party
Sunday 17 Dec – final training of 2017
Sunday 14 Jan – first training of 2018

Notice board

We have recently reintroduced the Casuals notice board during our training sessions in the club house. It’s a great way to stay up to date with Casuals news on training, tournaments and social events.

Do look out for it at training in the future and if you have any feedback or suggestions for items to include on it please get in touch.

Volunteer update

On Sunday 8 November it was Mark Horne’s last coaching session with the Casuals. Mark joined us in January 2016 and has been our dedicated goalkeeping coach. Mark has moved to the north of England with his wife and we all wish him the very best for the future.

Thank you to all our volunteers who make the Casuals possible. If you would like to join our award winning team please get in touch – we always welcome additional support.
