Sunday 3rd February

Oxford City Ladies FC have a big one this weekend welcoming AFC Bournemouth to Court Place Farm.

Waheed is expecting a closely fought game “We’re very excited to welcome Bournemouth to Court Place Farm this Sunday in the league. They currently occupy top spot on goal difference but we have a game in hand over them so a positive result on the weekend could push us, potentially, 6pts away from them. It is fine margins and we expect to come up against a very strong outfit this Sunday. I have every confidence in our fight to drive us to a real strong performance and a good result.”

On Squad Injuries

Oxford City Ladies FC season has been dogged with injuries. The team are still without experienced players: Nicole Miles, Natalie Morris and Tina Higgs due to long-term injuries. Leah McConnell has added to Waheed’s selection headaches after picking up an injury in the game against Southampton.

On the New Signing

The Hoops welcomed new keeper, Hannah Bennett, to Oxford City this week. Hannah boasts previous experience at Reading WFC. Waheed told us “I am really pleased to bring in a keeper of Hannah’s quality. So far, she has shown excellent distribution and shot stopping, ideal for the way we play. This also allows Maisie to return to our defensive line. Once again, I’d like to thank Maisie for all her hard work, commitment and stepping in as Goalkeeper as long as we needed her.”
