Oxford City Women travel to Winchester this Sunday with the Hoops looking to pick up their first win of the season.

City started their league campaign last weekend as they faced Newbury at Marsh Lane. The match ended in a 2-2 draw with midfielder Lindsay Pinker scoring both of Oxford's goals.

That was City's second competitive fixture of the season after beginning with a 5-2 defeat against Ashford Town in the Women's FA Cup a fortnight ago.

The point against Newbury left the side in 5th place in the Southern Region Women's Premier Division although it is still very early days.

Winchester are yet to kick-start their league campaign so will be hoping to get off the marks at the first possible opportunity when they host the Hoops.

Unlike City, Winchester did progress through to the next round of the FA Cup when they beat Bournemouth Sports LFC 3-1 after extra-time in their only competitive match of the 2019/20 season so far.

The Hoops finished last season 23 points clear of this weekend's opponents as well as completing the double over the Flyers in the league.

If last campaign is anything to go by, then we could be in for a thriller this weekend with City scoring five goals in both meetings following a 5-2 win at home and a captivating 5-4 win away.

Kick-off is this Sunday at 2pm in Hampshire before the side returns to Court Place Farm next weekend.

There are still plenty of sponsorship opportunities that you can get involved with this season so don't hesitate to get in touch and to join our journey.
