City link up with student body.

Oxford City FC will be right on track this season after announcing an exciting new partnership with Oxford Brookes Racing.

Based at nearby Headington Hill, Oxford Brookes Racing (OBR) sees students designing and building almost every aspect of their Formula Student car, including chassis, suspension, aerodynamics and powertrain.

Founded in 1999, OBR has developed and grown into one of Europe’s elite teams and they aspire to be one of the top teams in the world, using engineering innovation at the highest level while behind the scenes they have a team working on media, marketing and sponsorship.

To date OBR have won seven UK Top Team awards; more than any other University and have broken records, broken barriers, and will continue to strive to fuel the engineers and leaders of the next generation.

Chris Williams, Head of Partnerships at Oxford City explains how the partnership grew almost organically.

“It started with our Student Nights where a few of the OBR team started to come along and watch Oxford City. That developed into them joining us regularly and the players commenting on the new group of fans adding to the atmosphere at matches. We met up this summer to thank them for their support and it grew from there into a partnership that we believe will work for all of us.

“We hope to see many more students and OBR team members here this season and seeing the Oxford City logo on a Formula Student car will be amazing, especially after seeing close up how much hard work goes into getting the car ready for racing”.
