Defender jets in.

Oxford City FC are delighted to announce the signing of defender Aaron Harper-Bailey.

The 6ft 4in defender joins after leaving League Of Ireland side Drogheda United at the end of the Irish league season.

A left-footed defender, Aaron adds both physicality and versatility to our defensive ranks.

After signing, Aaron Harper-Bailey said: “I’m feeling good.

“To come back to the intensity of senior men’s first team football is good after a two-month break. I’ve been trying to keep fit and to be back in a professional environment is a great feeling.

Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins added: “We’re very happy to add to our back line with the signing of Aaron.

“Aaron will add physicality and power to our team which will be a great addition for us.

“He’s come in with a great attitude to work hard and get stuck in which is exactly what we like, and now we need to build those relationships on the pitch.”

A powerful defender, Harper-Bailey was playing men’s football aged just fifteen, and had to play under a pseudonym to be allowed to play.

He joined Rushall Olympic in 2022, but his performances quickly earned him a move to West Bromwich Albion’s academy.

He became a regular starter for the Baggies’ U23 side before heading out on loan to Kidderminster Harriers in the National League. In fact, his debut for Harriers came against The Hoops at Aggborough.

After leaving the Hawthorns, he signed a deal with Drogheda United in the League of Ireland before ending his two-season stay in January to move back home.

He’ll now get his first taste of Enterprise National League North with City.

Welcome to Oxford City, Aaron!
