Oxford City Sign Jack Bearne
Ex-Liverpool man Jack is our latest recruit.
Oxford City FC are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated winger Jack Bearne from Hednesford Town, subject to FA & National League approval.
The ex-Liverpool winger makes the move to Enterprise National League North after an impressive season with Hednesford, where he accumulated 20 assists and 15 goals across the season.
A player who has already won promotion from National League North, Bearne adds creativity and pace to the squad.
After signing his deal with the Hoops, Bearne said: “As soon as the gaffer spoke to me about the project and the identity of the club, it definitely made my mind up about coming and being a part of it.
“This is a brand new exciting challenge for me this season and I can’t wait to get started.
“I like to think I’m a player that gets the fans off their seat, so hopefully I’ll be able to put in some good performances and earn their respect.”
Men’s First Team Manager Ross Jenkins added: “I’m thrilled to get Jack on board for this season.
“Jack’s got a great attitude and desire to do well, which reflected in his performances and contributions in goals and assists last season at Hednesford.
“I’m delighted and excited to see him link up with the team.”

Bearne started his football journey with Notts County, before European giants Liverpool snapped him up aged 15.
He impressed at Anfield and rose through the ranks with the Reds, making his debut in the League Cup Quarter Final against Aston Villa in 2019. He also won the FA Youth Cup in his time with the club.
Whilst with Liverpool, Jack joined Kidderminster Harriers on loan (in National League North) and played an important role in the Harriers squad that won promotion via the play-offs.
After his release from Liverpool, he decided to re-locate north of the border to join Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton. He went onto make 30 appearances at Cappielow, before moving back to England and Hednesford.
Last season, Bearne was a key player in the Pitmen’s promotion to step 3 of non-league, achieving a remarkable 20 assists and 15 goals (the most important of all the winner in the Northern Premier League West Play-Off Final).
Bearne (pronounced beern) becomes Ross Jenkins’ third new signing of the summer, joining DJ Campton-Sturridge and Latrell Humphrey-Ewers.
