OXFORD CITY SIGN JACK BYCROFT ON LOAN

Nov 04, 2023

Talented Goalkeeper joins from Southampton.

Oxford City FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Jack Bycroft from Southampton.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper spent last season with Taunton Town in the Vanarama National League South and went on to make 48 appearances,  whilst keeping nineteen clean sheets in the process.

City fans may also remember Jack from our two clashes with the Peacocks, where he made a string of impressive saves to deny the Hoops.

Last season also culminated in Jack being named in the VNLS team of the season (alongside City's Zac McEachran).

Bycroft is also no stranger to National League football after spending time with Weymouth in the 2021/22 season, as well as having a short spell with Aldershot Town earlier this season.

He has also represented Dorchester and represented England at U19 level.

After signing on loan for City, Jack said: "As soon as the gaffer made contact with Southampton I was excited to get here.

"I feel like I've had a fair bit of exposure to the [National] league now, and hopefully I can help us this season stay where we belong.

"I've spoken with a few of the lads already and safety is definitely achievable. I don't think the results have reflected the performances.

"I don't know why we can't push up the league!"

Welcome to Oxford City, Jack!
