Oxford City Women Crowned County Champions
City Women Cruise to the Cup

Oxford City Women won the Oxfordshire Women’s Cup for a record-breaking 17th time this afternoon as they romped to a one-sided 11-0 win over Kidlington.
A hat-trick of hat tricks from Ellie White, Kate Parsons Yasmin Edwards plus goals by Ellie Walecki and Emily Harris gave The Hoops a more than comfortable victory in front of an appreciative crowd of over 500 fans.
Boss Aliyah Anthony had asked for a quick start but perhaps not THAT quick. There were just 35 seconds on the clock when skipper Grace Craven slipped a perfect ball through for the pace of Edwards to get in behind the Kidlington backline and stab the ball past keeper Emily Murphy from a tight angle
Two further efforts from Edwards in the next two minutes set the tone as City dominated the entire 90 minutes Walecki powered through a challenge and tapped into the empty net to make it 2-0 after 21, White effectively ended the game as a contest after 24 when Walecki led a break forward and curled a perfect pass for the top scorer to tap home her 20th goal of a very impressive season and the dynamic Harris battled her way through on 34 to roll the ball across the despairing Murphy and make it 4-0.
Edwards then headed home her second after 40 minutes to make it 5-0 and White’s second goal on 42 made it 6-0 at the break
The scoreline kept rising and just 42 seconds into the second half Parsons scored with her first touch as fellow sub Lucy White left her with a tap -in, and the same player then rifled home her second after 52 minutes to make it 8-0 before completing a 14 minute hat trick after 59 minutes to make it 9-0.
White then matched that with her own hat-trick from the penalty spot to move the scoreline into double figures after namesake Lucy was dropkicked by Murphy, leaving White and Parsons to argue over the matchball, with Edwards joining the squabble in the 90th minute as she slipped home her own third from distance.
Credit to Kidlington, outclassed but determined not to let their heads drop - out best wishes in particular to keeper Murphy who was forced off with a head injury with five minutes to go. But today was all about a City side who have made huge strides once again over the course of a long hard season.
There are still a couple of league games to go but cup silverware is a nice way to underline the huge positives and the good things that are happening at the MGroup Stadium
Congratulations to all involved.
