Edwards hat-trick the highlight as Women's pre-season gathers pace

Oxford City Women’s pre-season took another big step forward on Sunday with a hat-trick from Yasmin Edwards the highlight of a 7-2 win away at Frampton.
Georgina Tayman set the tone after just six minutes when she unleashed a magnificent drive from all of 35 yards that put the Hoops 1-0 up and Kate Parsons scored another wonder strike to make it 2-0 at the break.
The home side pulled a goal back soon after half time but The prolific Ellie Whute made it 3-1 and then a weaving run from Edwards saw her make it 4-1. The young forward then added two moreto complete here hat trick with a second for Frampton a mere consolation.
“First of all well done to both sides” Manger Lyon told us. “It was a very hot afternoon but both teams will have got somethng out of it. For us, obviously, Yasmin getting a hat-trick is fantastic but there were plenty of other strong performances and the newer faces are starting to fit in nicely, the senior players are setting the tone and all of the youngsters are doig really well.
“The scoreline isn’t the key thing, it’s all about putting ideas into action and we can be really pleased with how we played today.”
