REPORT Women Go Through in Chairman's Cup
Two goal White as City beat Wimborne

Oxford City Women’s superb season of cup football continued as they went through to the next round of the Chairman’s Cup with a dramatic 3-2 win at Wimborne yesterday.
Top scorer Ellie White again led the way with two goals, the first to break the ice from the penalty spot after 36 minutes before Yas Edwards made it 2-0 at the break to seemingly give City an unassailable lead.
However the Dorset side hit back and piled on the pressure to make it 2-2 with 20 minutes to go before White settled the nerves with another expertly taken goal to win the game 3-2 with her fifteenth goal of the season,
Manager Lyon Theoharous told us:
“We got through, which is obviously the aim, but it was another fantastic game of cup football where we showed character and had to battle our way into the next round.
“We talked at half time about staying strong after getting 2-0 up away from home so we knew Wimborne would come at us. To go again after they got back to 2-2 was a great effort and with such a young side, including Kira Ranxha on her debut, there are so many positives to take from the game.”
