Jenkins previews Oldham Athletic fixture.

Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins has said that his side can’t take their foot off the pedal ahead of Saturday’s clash with Oldham Athletic in the Vanarama National League.

Speaking to www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk , Jenkins said that he’s been encouraged by the mood at training since the squad’s last outing at Barnet, and is hoping for a performance to avenge the 4-0 defeat at Boundary Park earlier this season.

“It’s like any game really, we’ve got to make sure we put on a good display.” Said Jenkins.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game. We actually went there and put in a performance that we didn’t want.

“So, we owe them and ourselves a good performance.

This week has been really good in training. There’s a positive vibe, no down faces and it’s been really good. The boys need to take that into the next two games now as they’re big games.

“We want to leave our mark on them and finish the season really strongly and give everyone a smile towards the back end of the season.

“Our performances have been pretty sound. I’m really disappointed with the Barnet game in regard to the decisions in that game, but that’s something we can’t control.

“We have to prepare for Oldham, and for Bromley as we won’t have a training session in between the two.

“If you take your foot off the pedal these clubs beat you because they’re a big club.

Oldham is a massive club with a big history, but it’s important we focus on ourselves on our pitch in front of our fans.”
