City 2 Solihull 4

After a pitch scare the game was played between Solihull & Oxford City Blues.

The Quarter Final got underway and Solihull created 3 chances in the 1st 2 mins but it was a lively Oxford who took the lead through Shane Harte. Solihull responded almost immediately with a well taken penalty scored by Owen Farmer. The game was played at a good tempo and Solihull were pressing high which led to a mistake at the back for Oxford which was cooly taken by Owen Farmer 2-1 HT

Second half started brightly by both teams and was a midfield battle to the end, a throw in led to a well trained move which saw a tremendous shot by Shay Young crash off the bar with Owen Farmer following in to claim his hat trick .3-1. Oxford worked really hard all game and scored a cracker from Mekhi Thomas which flew into the roof of the net. 3-2

The possession was kept by Solihull and created further chances on the break, a last ditch tackle brought Owen down for a penalty, Owen farmer stepped up and claimed his 4th. Final score 4-2

Big thanks to Billy, parents and players from Solihull, great to see two sides have so much banter after and share lunch together
