Three Youngsters Earn First Team Deals

August 8, 2025

Brayden Daniel, Josh McConnell and Max Treml all step up to the first team.

We're delighted to announce that three Oxford City youngsters have earned first team deals after impressing in pre-season.

Midfielders Brayden Daniel and Josh McConnell alongside Goalkeeper Max Treml are all graduates of the club's hugely successful Velocity Football programme, and after regular minutes in pre-season have earned a place in Ross Jenkins' first team squad for the 2025/26 season.

Brayden Daniel spent last season on loan with Thame United and was key in helping the Red Kites win the Oxfordshire Senior Cup. Brayden has been in the academy set-up at Oxford City since the age of seven, but has also spent time with Oxford United's academy before he joined Velocity.

It's been a super pre-season for central midfielder Josh McConnell. Another player who gained valuable minutes on loan with Kidlington last season, McConnell has stepped up to the plate in City's pre-season games.

Goalkeeper Max Treml is the youngest of the trio, but has also been solid in between the sticks with ninety minutes at Banbury United proving to be a particular highlight. He will join the goalkeeping department and act as the Hoops' number two goalkeeping option for the start of the season.

All three players are available for sponsorship now, and if you'd like to support one of the next generation of talented footballers, you can email us by clicking HERE.

After the summer departures of Phil Croker and Jayden Carbon, there's never been a better time to join the club - and if you think you've got what it takes, or slipped through the net, we're hosting trials at the club to find our next star.
