Alfie Potter Commits To Oxford City

June 1, 2026

More Potter magic to come.

Oxford City’s busy summer continues with the fantastic news that Oxford football legend Alfie Potter has signed a new deal with the club.

Alfie, who turned 37 in January, joined The Hoops in 2021 after making well over 300 senior appearances for Peterborough United, Oxford United, Northampton Town, AFC Wimbledon and Mansfield Town.

As Manager Ross Jenkins told us, the forward still has a big role to play at the MGroup Stadium this season.

“He’s a wonderful role model” Ross said. “He is always first out there for training, he is extremely fit and his experience and professionalism make him a really important member of the squad."

"He can play a number of positions and was on the pitch for us for well over 1,000 minutes last season."

"It was just a question of whether he wanted to push himself again for another year but the moment we chatted you could see he still has that same energy and commitment so it’s another really positive signing.”

Alfie told us:

“I see what the club is doing and how it is progressing in everything it does and that’s exciting to be involved with. I still want to win things and be part of a successful side and I see this as a wonderful opportunity.

"The fans have been amazing with me and I can’t wait to get back out there playing again.”

Alfie is at the MGroup Stadium this afternoon to play in a Charity game to raise funds for DEBRA. Come along and have a chat with him, Matty Taylor and Josh Ashby who are also involved.

Alfie makes it eight players to put pen to paper for the Man’s side this season, joining strikers Tyrone Marsh and Matty Taylor, goalkeeper Jonny Maxted, captain Josh Ashby, defender Canice Carroll, Winger Ewan Clark and talismanic midfielder Zac McEachran.
