Ewan Clark agrees new deal with Oxford City
Winger to remain at boyhood club.
Oxford City's summer signing continue with exciting forward Ewan Clark the latest player to pledge their future to the club.
The 23-year-old progressed through the club's Velocity Academy before first breaking into the senior team in 2021. The winger left The MGroup Stadium for professional football with Championship side Bristol City in 2022 and after after impressive spells at Yeovil Town and Bath City.
Having come home to Oxford at the start of last season Ewan is pleased to have the chance to continue where he left off last season when he was inspired form as City finished the season in style.
"The run we had at the end of last season was great" he told us. "We took a while to really gel as a team but once we did so we were going into games in such a positive way and that's what we need to do right from the start this coming season. I've known Ross for a long time now, he was my under 19s coach with Velocity, and he always gets the best out of me.
"One he outlined the plans the club has and the players he wanted to add to the squad it made it a really easy decision to sign. It's a place that means so much to me and I can't wait to get started again."
Manager Ross Jenkins told us, "Ewan's a better player now than he was as that youngster in his first spell. He is always a threat, he gets defenders on the back foot and his workmate is second to none.
"We believe there is still more to come from him and this is another really exciting signing that the fans will love."
It's been busy week at The MGroup Stadium with Ewan the sixth player to commit their future to the club already this summer, joining strikers Tyrone Marsh and Matty Taylor, goalkeeper Jonny Maxted, captain Josh Ashby and talismanic midfielder Zac McEachran.
