Striker joins list of summer retentions.

Oxford City Football Club are delighted to announce that striker Matty Taylor has signed new deal to keep him at The MGroup Stadium for the upcoming season.

Matty made a huge impact with five goals in seven appearances after joining for the run-in last season, and as Manager Ross Jenkins said his impact goes beyond simply finding the net on a regular basis.

"Clearly he is still an outstanding finisher" Ross said, "but he is such a positive character around the place and someone that everyone looks up to. He trains hard and demands high standards from everyone around him, and I'm sure the fans will be really happy with the news that he wants to play his part for us again this season."

Matty added,

"I've loved my time at Oxford City, right from the start. I still have the same enthusiasm as I've always had; I still get a huge buzz out of playing football, love scoring goals, and I want to be part of a winning team here. I have always enjoyed pre-season and will be working hard to get as sharp as I can to try and play a part in a successful season for the club."

Matty joins new arrivals Tyrone Marsh and Jonny Maxted in joining the club this summer, with Captain Josh Ashby and talismanic midfielder Zac McEachran also committing their future to The Hoops.
