Meet our new Women's First Team Manager.

Oxford City Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Aliyah Anthony as our new Women's First Team Manager ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Anthony took charge of the side on an interim basis following the departure of Lyon Theoharous midway through last season and oversaw a significant upturn in form.

Her record at the helm was outstanding, suffering just one league defeat in seven matches, while also guiding the Hoops to another Oxfordshire Women's Cup title.

A popular and inspiring figure around the club, the appointment marks another milestone in Aliyah's remarkable football journey.

Having previously captained the Women's First Team, she will now lead the side as Manager.

Alongside her involvement with the first team in recent years, Anthony has been a superb role model for aspiring female footballers within our Junior and Youth system at The MGroup Stadium.

She has also played a key role in the growth and development of the girls' pathway at the club and within the Velocity Football College Programme.

A shining example of what hard work and dedication can achieve, Aliyah's appointment has been warmly welcomed by Head of Strategy & Football Operations Allan Steele, who said: "We are all delighted that Aliyah will continue in the role of Women's First Team Manager.

"Aliyah is an inspirational leader and it's a pleasure working with her on a daily basis.

"Her consistency and communication are central to the positive relationships she has built with the players, and she is hugely motivated to drive the team forward this season."

Speaking after her appointment, Aliyah said: "I'm really excited to lead this team into the upcoming season. It feels like a turning point for both the club and the women's team, and I can't wait to get started.

"Having come through the ranks here and now being given the opportunity to lead the side, I can only thank Justin and Louise for the belief they have shown in me.

"I'm incredibly proud to represent this club and I'm looking forward to building on the progress we made last season."
