Paul Robinson Named Oxford City Assistant Manager
Robinson signs new deal.
Oxford City FC are delighted to announce that Paul Robinson has been appointed as our new Men’s First Team Assistant Manager, extending his stay at The MGroup Stadium.
Robinson joined Oxford City last season as part of Ross Jenkins’ backroom team following successful coaching spells with Millwall, Birmingham City and Watford.
‘Robbo’ made a significant impact during his first season with the Hoops, adding valuable experience and quality to the coaching staff.
Now, the 47-year-old has committed his future to the club by signing a new deal ahead of the 2026/27 Enterprise National League North campaign.
After extending his stay with City, Robinson said: “I’m delighted to extend my stay with Oxford City for another season.
“After a strong finish to last season, there’s a real sense of optimism and ambition around the club.
“I’m excited for the challenges ahead and look forward to continuing my work in helping the club progress while supporting the development of our players.”
Robinson enjoyed a playing career spanning more than two decades, including over ten years in the Premier League.
Having progressed through the ranks at Watford, he helped the Hornets earn promotion to English football’s top flight before joining West Bromwich Albion in 2003.
At The Hawthorns, Robinson played a key role in the Baggies’ famous ‘Great Escape’ during the 2004/05 season and went on to enjoy a successful six-year spell with the club.
He later joined Premier League side Bolton Wanderers, with a brief loan spell at Leeds United in 2012, before moving to Birmingham City.
Robinson became a cult hero at St Andrew’s, winning the club’s Player of the Season award in 2013/14 and playing a pivotal role in helping the Blues maintain their Championship status.
After making 175 first-team appearances for Birmingham, he retired from playing in 2018 and remained at the club as Assistant Senior Professional Development Coach.
He joined Millwall as First Team Coach in 2021 before returning to Birmingham City in March 2024, where he was appointed First Team Technical Coach under Gary Rowett.
A move back to Watford as Assistant Coach followed in October 2024, before a brief spell with Stratford Town preceded his arrival at Oxford City.
Congratulations, Robbo!
