Club Update | Oxford City FC Develop Behind The Scenes
Hoops continue to develop off the pitch.
Oxford City Football Club can announce two significant developments behind the scenes, as the club continues to grow and develop off the field.
We are delighted to announce that Lee Pankau has joined the club on a full-time basis as our Club Secretary & Operations Lead, whereas Andy Gate has been promoted to a newly-formed role of Head of Growth & Fan Engagement.
Both appointments reflect the commitment at Oxford City FC to invest in the people and the infrastructure that will take the club to the next level.
Lee Pankau
Lee has been working at Oxford City FC in various capacities since 2017 and has been a valued presence across a number of areas from coaching to operational matters.
Most recently, Lee stepped up to the role as Club Secretary and has added structure and professionalism to the role as well as supporting other key areas of the football club.
We are thrilled that Lee has agreed to join the club on a full-time basis and extend his nine-year association with the club, in a role that will support a number of key aspects here at The MGroup Stadium including governance, admin and supporting the day-to-day functioning of the club.
Lee said: “I’m delighted to expand my role at the club. Having worked part-time in various capacities at Oxford City FC over the years. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the incredible progress and development the club has made since I joined in 2017.
“I’m excited to dedicate my full-time and focus to this new role and to continue working alongside the brilliant team as we strive to drive the club forward and build on the success we’ve achieved together.”
Head of Strategy and Football Operations Allan Steele added: “Lee has been a huge part of the Oxfordshire Football landscape for a number of years and part of the club for nearly a decade.
“His experience, knowledge and adaptability have seen him flourish in the role so far and this step up is not only well deserved but a real sign of intent from the club to show its ambitions in building a strong team on and off the pitch.
“Lee is an extremely popular member of staff who represents our values and is a credit to the club and I am looking forward to working with him on a more consistent basis.”
Andy Gate
Andy Gate, who joined the club in 2021, has been promoted to the role of Head of Growth & Fan Engagement as the club looks to continue to develop our relationship with our supporters, partners and the local community.
Andy will continue to manage the Media & Marketing team, as well as leading on Ticketing & Retail.
Andy said: “I am extremely honoured to take on this role and I want to thank the club for putting their faith in me.
“As soon as you visit Oxford City FC, you realise that it’s a special club.
“I’m extremely lucky to work with staff that are equally brilliant and passionate at what they do, and I’ll be working hard to continue to help the club’s progression.
“I hope as a team, we can deliver for our fantastic supporters, partners and community."
Managing Director Louise Merritt added: “It's a hugely exciting time with ambitious plans to push ahead in all areas.
"Andy is massively talented in creating fast and impactful ideas. Andy's experience twinned with immersing himself into our community and our home of Oxford are inspiring to be part of.
“Andy not only creates the story but is part of the club's future story and it's a privilege to work with him as it will be for the team he builds around him.”
