DJ Campton-Sturridge Signs For Oxford City
City's first new arrival is here.
Oxford City FC are delighted to announce the signing of forward DJ Campton-Sturridge as the club’s first new addition of the summer.
The 23-year-old began his career in Aston Villa’s academy, impressing at youth level and with the Under-21s at Villa Park before departing in 2023.
Blessed with pace, he has spent the majority of his career in the National League North, featuring last season for both Farsley Celtic and Hereford.
He will now join our men’s first team ahead of the 2025/26 season.
After signing his deal at the MGroup Stadium, Campton-Sturridge said: “I’m delighted, and it’s good to get it done early so I can start with the boys in pre-season straight away.
“I was really impressed by the presentation he (Ross Jenkins) set out, how he broke down my game and how he saw me.
"It was a no brainer from there really.”
Men’s First Team Manager Ross Jenkins added: “He’s a player I’ve watched for a while now, so we know what he can add to the squad.
“He’s got all the attributes to be successful. He’s dynamic, versatile and will bring a real sense of excitement to the fans.
“We’re looking forward to working with him this season."

City's new signing comes from a footballing family.
His father, Dean Sturridge, was a striker who played in the Premier League for Derby County and is the Rams’ record goalscorer in the top flight.
DJ is also the cousin of former England, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge.
He started his career with Aston Villa and rose through the academy ranks. He made a name for himself in the under 21s before some unfortunate injuries stunted his progress.
After departing Villa, he joined Solihull Moors in November 2023 on a short-term deal, a move that helped him find his feet in senior football.
He departed Damson Park soon after, and short-term deals with Alvechurch and then-National League North side Banbury United followed as he continued his development in the higher echelons non-league.
Last summer, he joined Farsley Celtic in pre-season, before off the field turmoil at the Yorkshire club saw him swap the Celt’s relegation battle for Hereford’s play-off push.
Now, he'll be looking to make a home for himself at the MGroup Stadium and aid Ross Jenkins' side next season.
Everyone at Oxford City would like to welcome DJ to the club and wish him the best of luck throughout his time here.
