Ewan Clark Returns To Oxford City

September 12, 2025

Clark comes home.

Oxford City FC are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated winger Ewan Clark from Bath City.

Ewan is no stranger to the Hoops faithful. The 22-year-old progressed through the club’s Velocity Academy before breaking into the first team in 2021.

The winger left the MGroup Stadium for professional football with Championship side Bristol City in 2022 after a string of impressive performances for City.

Equally impressive spells with Yeovil Town and Bath City followed as he became a fans’ favourite with the two Somerset sides.

Now though, Clark returns home to the place it all began and will prepare to take on Enterprise National League North with Oxford City.

Manager Ross Jenkins added: “Ewan’s a player I know well and I know what he can bring to a team.

“He’s gained more experience over the last couple seasons which will be very important to our group.

“He’s a creative player and most importantly will work for the team.”

Owner Justin Merritt said: “We are delighted to re-sign Ewan as we continue to improve the squad. Ewan progressed through the Velocity programme and into the first team before being sold to Bristol City and subsequently joining Bath City FC.

“He is an exciting talent and has a lot to achieve in the game. We believe we will provide the right platform and environment to get the best out of Ewan which will provide us with great attacking options.”

A product of our Velocity Academy, Clark played under Ross Jenkins in our U19 side. However, after Jenkins took the reigns as First Team Manager, Clark’s career took off.

A number of highly impressive performances saw the youngster develop into one of the brightest prospects in non-league.

He scored his first senior goal for City against Tonbridge Angels in National League South as he helped City reach the Play-Offs in 2021/22.

However, Ewan’s form didn’t go unnoticed and he made the move to professional football as he joined Championship side Bristol City in 2022.

He spent the pre-season with the Robins before he joined National League side Yeovil Town on loan in 2022/23.

An impressive spell at Hush Park attracted more attention, but Clark opted to move to Twerton Park with Bath City after his release from Ashton Gate in 2023.

He quickly became a fans’ favourite with the Romans faithful with his trickery and eye for goal and helped Bath reach the National League South play-offs in his first year there (losing to eventual winners Braintree Town).

Injury blighted his second year with the club, but now - he links up with old boss Ross Jenkins again and will return to the place where it all started.
