Young Hoops begin FA Youth Cup Campaign with away trip to Basingstoke
Oxford City U18s kick off their FA Youth Cup run as they travel to Basingstoke for the 2nd round qualifying as they look to emulate the historic cup run from a few years back.
Meet the Team
Max Treml (GK)
The 17-year-old shotstopper has been involved in the first team since impressing Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins. He is a second-year student in the Velocity Programme. The young 'keeper is certainly one to watch and one for the future at the club.
Nahjai Spence
Spence is also a second year student with the Velocity Programme and a talented, combative full back who began his footballing journey at Reading before joining Oxford City.
Evan Took-Oxley
Took-Oxley is a versatile player, able to play in multiple positions across the back line and push up into midfield. The second year student is gaining experience of senior football whilst on loan at Kidlington. He has an impressive range of passing as shown by his exceptional assist to Charlie Bacon during the U19s 3-0 win over Slough Town in the National League opener.
Jacob Parker-Hunt
Jacob Parker-Hunt played against the first team during pre-season as he is on loan at Easington Sports. The old school centre-half participated in the U19s National League opener and aided in the clean sheet.
Ashton Barber
Barber is an exciting right sided player who can play anywhere down the right hand side. His pace and agility allows him to get in behind the backline and bomb forward as a full back. Barber came through the JPL ranks with Oxford City and climbed up to the U18 side.
Tyler Dix
Dix was previously at Oxford United before joining the Velocity Programme this year. Tyler can play in multiple positions across the backline and with his cultured left foot, he is an impressive ball-playing defender with a lot of potential.
Matthew Harwood
Harwood is an exceptional technical players with a good range of passing. As a midfielder he can also fill in at centre-back. Matthew is a second year student with Velocity and impressed during his stay at the club.
Harvey Goff
The young right-back has progressed right the way through Oxford City's impressive JPL ranks. Goff has been at the club since U9s, a type of loyalty which is rare to find in football. It's Harvey's first year with Velocity and if his development is anything to go by, he's one to watch for the future.
Kaiden Heap
Heap is an impressive young midfielder, also gaining valuable experience of senior football on loan at Didcot Town. With heaps of talent, Kaiden is touted for big things in his footballing career and after an impressive game for the U19s side, the stage is set for Heap to impress on a big stage like the FA Youth Cup.
Endri Stathi
Endri Stathi joined Easington Sports on loan after impressing for Clanfield 85 last season. It was only three years ago that Stathi was winning the U14s Players' Player of the Season award during City's Junior and Youth Awards day. Stathi also appeared for City's U19 side last season and scored in a thrilling game against Boreham Wood. He was a notable performer during the win over Slough Town.
Jack Green
This is Green's first season as a member of the Velocity programme and his footballing intelligence and IQ is already apparent. He is a highly technical box-to-box midfielder who contributes to the side at both ends of the pitch.
Georgios Tzengko
Tzengko is originally from Greece and came through the PAOK programme. His cultured left-foot and athletic qualities makes him a handful in central midfield. Georgios has a bright future ahead of him.
Casey Price
Price is described as a "silky" midfielder who plays in the centre of the park. He also played in the JPL sides at Oxford City after being released by Oxford United at 15-years-old. Price will be one for the future and his technical ability will take him a long way in his career.
Kauan Bitencourt de Oliveira
Kauan Bittencourt de Oliveira made two appearances for the first team last season and impressed during his campaign in the U19 National League squad. He has made waves in the Kidlington side, scoring a brace in his last outing and picking up the Man of the Match award for his contribution in the victory over Abingdon United.
Michael Bampoh
The 17-year-old recently signed a contract with Oxford City's first team. The highly rated teenage featured on the bench for the game against Spennymoor Town and featured for the U19 side against Slough Town. Having previously come through the ranks at Arsenal and FAB Academy, Bampoh comes highly touted as a future star.
Piotr Fornal
This young, tricky winger is a handful for any backlines. Fornal has real quality when he's on the ball and the young, Polish second year student can score from anywhere with his left foot.
Bukunmi Maxwell
Bukunmi, also known as BK, is a rangey second year student. He is currently on loan at North Leigh in Step 5 of the football pyramid, gaining valuable minutes in senior football. He has a keen eye for goal and is a natural goalscorer, aided by his impressive athletic qualities.
