Defender joins on loan from Charlton Athletic.

Oxford City Football  Club are delighted to announce that defender Jacob Roddy has joined the club on loan from League One side Charlton Athletic.

The 6’1″ defender has gained experience within the Academy systems of both Southampton and current side Charlton, and is eligible to play in this afternoon's National League fixture against Solihull Moors.

Jacob joined Southampton at the age of ten and was with the Saints until the age of 16.

A short-spell with Bradfield College followed after he left St Mary's, but in 2021 he linked up with the Addicks' U21 squad.

Since then, he's gone on to make four appearances for the first team.

He also spent a month on loan with National League South side Weston-Super-Mare this season, but now bolsters Ross Jenkins' squad.

Welcome to Oxford City, Jacob!
