New Women's First team Manager announced.

Oxford City FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Lyon Theoharous as the club's new Women's First Team Manager.

Theoharous joins the Hoops ahead of an exciting new season, and has a wealth of experience as a coach.

An academy coach at Tottenham Hotspur, Lyon has also worked for a number of non-league clubs in the men's game, most recently Edgware & Kingsbury.

He'll now look to build on the already strong foundations that have been laid by the team after their Oxfordshire Women's Cup title.

After signing his deal at the MGroup Stadium, Theoharous said: “I’m really excited and I just can’t wait to get started.

“I think I’ve had a really nice period of time to look at what we have at the moment and some of the positives of how things are structured.

“It’s good to have that period of understanding and that will continue during my first few weeks, but also then to build on what we have.”

Oxford City's Head of Female Football Aliyah Anthony added: "I'm really excited to welcome Lyon to the club.

“We conducted a thorough search and Lyon was the outstanding candidate.

"We're always looking to progress both on and off the field and I believe that with his drive, work-rate and passion we can keep progressing."

City's new Manager may be young in age, but his experience in the game is already enough to make some of the more established of coaches envious.

A driven and motivated coach, Lyon started coaching aged sixteen, and has continued to pick up experience in both academy and non-league football in the Men's & Women's game.

Alongside his role with the club, Theoharous coaches at Tottenham Hotspur as part of their Women's academy and is a UEFA B licensed coach.

He has also worked in non-league football, and was most recently with Edgeware & Kingsbury in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League (step 5).

Everyone at Oxford City FC would like to welcome Lyon and wish him the very best of luck ahead of his time at the club.
